• Alaric and Mariah appeared at the top of a mountain. Mariah glanced around them, at the trees below them before she glanced at Alaric. The moonlight made his hair shimmer and his golden scales glinted. She reached out and caressed it, her eyes revealing her wonder as she realized that the scales were not worn, but rather, his skin. “I do not understand, how are you covered in scales?”
• “I’m in my partial form,” he answered. “The scales cover my chastity,” he looked down shyly and his ears turned red.
• Mariah understood what he meant instantly but still decided to tease him, “So you are naked?”
