Chapter 65 Not In The Mood To Entertain
- Iris sat on the ground, breathing a sigh of relief that the maids had been released. Her eyes went to Mariah, who was standing in front of the doors, watching the maids with wide eyes. She gritted her teeth, her fingers clenching on the ground, and dirt got into her nails. She was surprised, she didn’t expect the Demon princess to be that beautiful. For as long as she had lived, Iris had prided herself on being the most beautiful, hence why she believed that she was the only one worthy to be with Alaric. She even believed that when his mate’s senses start tingling, she would end up being his mate. So many women had tried throwing themselves at Alaric, but he never fell, never looked at them more than once. With the way he treated other women, she had believed that Alaric was in love with her, and also the fact that he let her get away with literally anything, proved it to her.
- However, two days ago, after he woke up, she had heard from her father that he wanted to travel to the Land demon kingdom and bring their princess to this land. She didn’t want to believe it; her womanly senses were telling her what it could mean, but she refused to listen to it, believing that Alaric would never look at another woman but her. She had tried to meet up with him, to ask him about the deal with the demon princess but he never graced her with his presence. Even when she went knocking on his door yesterday, he had told his guards to tell her he was resting, however, he was busy instructing the maids on how to arrange the Gold Pavilion for his guest.
- Famous fabric sellers and seamstresses were invited to the palace yesterday, and they worked all night long, in order to make the robes which were delivered this morning. When she saw the robes as they were delivered, she couldn’t believe her eyes. Alaric had always pampered her, always fulfilled every one of her whims, which was why it was not strange for the famous seamstresses to work all night because of Alaric. However, it was the first time she was not the woman they were stressing themselves for. She had visited the pavilion earlier today as the maids were cleaning it, and she couldn’t fight the jealousy eating her up. Alaric had given her anything she had ever asked of him, but the right to move into that quarter, she had pleaded as much as she could, but he never caved in. Always goes on about how his mother loves the place and he wouldn’t want to just give it out.
