Chapter 2113 Lies Exposed
- “I am a doctor, yes,” Leigh replied, eyes narrowing to playful crescents, “but I'm no saint. From the moment you barged into our place, you've done nothing but hurl insults—first calling me a fraud, then accusing me of slander. You haven't offered me a single kind word, yet you expect sympathy? Sorry, my supply of pity is limited, and I reserve it for those who deserve it. Watching your luck run out, frankly, delights me.”
- “Y-You—” Hannah shook so hard her words rattled. “You're unworthy of the title doctor—utterly unworthy! I have never in my life met a physician so shameless, so devoid of ethics! How dare you wear that mantle?”
- Leigh chuckled and lifted a shoulder. “On that point, you're correct. I know I'm unfit for hospital politics, so I don't hang a shingle or chase a staff position. Only when someone comes pleading to my door do I, reluctantly, agree to help—and in a full year I see perhaps a handful of patients.” Leigh gave another breezy shrug, palms up. “So you see—at least I possess a healthy dose of self-awareness.”
