- Ica eyed Hannah curiously. “Why are you acting as though this is some grand, tragic sacrifice? Did you honestly think that announcing your divorce from Gavin would convince me to help him?”
- She let out a laugh. “Wake up! I’m not only angry with you; my resentment toward Gavin is every bit as deep—perhaps deeper. After all, he’s the one related to me by blood. The betrayal that comes from someone you trust hurts the most. Compared with you, I despise Gavin even more. So tell me, why should I help him?”
