Chapter 19 -The Men After Her

• Veronica had just realized that there were so many secrets kept from her, and now she no longer wanted to believe what others had been saying about her mother. She couldn’t even believe that her mother had done such a horrible betrayal to Carlos’s family and ruined their lives. Veronica planned to clear her mother’s name. And if her mother was indeed guilty, she would apologize to Carlos on her behalf and mean it. But if not, she would demand an apology from Carlos for all the pain he had caused her over something she never even did.
• Veronica grabbed all the items and documents, put them in a box, and left the building. She was going to see how Margot would defend herself now. She had the nerve to change her mother’s company name after her daughter’s, thinking that would throw people off and make them forget what the company was originally called. Veronica believed the documents that Margot had been showing around about being the sole owner of the company were illegal. She couldn’t wait to start her investigation. She sat in the cab without noticing the white SUV parked on the other side of the road and two men watching her.
