Chapter 14 -The Little Kid's Father

• Veronica was leaving the villa, her heart feeling heavy. Something told her that things between her and her father would never fully heal. Margot and Rosa would never let Caleb forget what Veronica’s mother had done, and somehow, that would always make him look at Veronica differently.
• She also couldn’t forget that her father had never stood up for her. He had never defended her whenever her stepmother bullied or abused her.
• There were too many unresolved issues between them, and sweeping them under the rug had done nothing to fix them.
