Chapter 10 -The Kid Reminds Her Of Her Son

• Veronica couldn't believe she was hearing a kidnapper threatening a little boy. She stretched her neck from behind the pillar and noticed the boy looked terrified. He seemed like he was from a wealthy family—wearing branded clothes and shoes, with the typical neat, well-groomed hairstyle.
• She felt the blood rush through her veins as she watched the old man grip the boy's arm so tightly that he was leaving marks on his skin.
• Veronica knew that if she made a sound, the man would run off with the boy, using the blade in his hand to threaten her out of the way. She didn’t want to risk stepping away to call for help. Her phone battery had died too. It was all on her shoulders now.
