• "You know I don't like such events and balls, Bruce," Veronica tried to politely turn down his request, but he was already pouting and giving her puppy dog eyes.
• "Please! Help me, Goddess, I'm without a partner," he joked, making her laugh and nod.
• "But I don't have a gown," she pouted back at him. She owed him that much. Back when she was basically homeless and lonely, he took her in, no questions asked. He gave her a reason to live and supported her through everything. If she could make his evening just by going to a ball with him, she would happily do it.
