• The office was a storm of voices, tension rippling through the air like electricity. I leaned back in my chair, trying to focus on the reports in front of me, but their muffled arguments only grated on my nerves. Every few seconds, Jerry’s voice would rise above the chaos, his frustration evident.
• “This is completely unacceptable,” Jerry snapped, slamming his palm against the table for emphasis. “Not only has she delayed this process repeatedly, but now she’s outright refusing to cooperate. And let’s not forget the rumors— she is cheating. Also have another boyfriend? It’s disgraceful! What kind of reputation does that leave for an Alpha?”
