• Anita’s Pov
• The door clicked shut behind me, and I finally let out the breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding. My heart was still pounding in my chest as the echoes of Alpha Hades’ stern command were ringing in my ears.
• I had caught Beta Damian’s gaze as I exited the conference room. He gave me a subtle nod of understanding, and I could feel some of the tension in my shoulders ease. At least someone in that room wasn’t looking at me like I’d committed a grave sin.
