• Anita’s POV
• The exhaustion clung to me like a heavy fog, seeping into every corner of my being. I glanced back over my shoulder, where Alpha Hades stood several paces behind me, his expression a mixture of concern and frustration. His eyes, now muted from their earlier intensity, softened when they met mine. It wasn’t enough to thaw the lingering tension between us, but it made me pause.
• “I’m going back,” I said softly, breaking the silence. “I’m tired. I can’t… deal with this right now.”
