• Richard opened the door to his apartment and was surprised to find Edward already waiting for him. Without a word, Richard closed the door behind him and moved toward the sofa.
• Edward looked up at him, frustration clear in his voice. “Are you going to bother telling me what’s really going on? You know everything about Lily, but I don’t. Ethan is her ex-husband, Lewis—I don’t even know who he is. Lorry’s father? There’s so much confusion. And Lily told you everything, but what about me?”
• Before Edward could finish, Richard silenced him with a sudden kiss. Pulling back, he said softly, “You ask too many questions. Calm down.”
