The courtroom was momentarily empty during the recess, the tension lingering in the air after the heated confrontation outside. Lily stood near the front, her heart racing as she processed what had just occurred between Ethan and Lewis.
Lewis, anger flashing in his eyes, had spat, “And how dare you hurt Lily all the time, only to show that you care now? Just because your love of your life, Sarah, left you for some asshole and is framing you in this. You know what? You deserve this!”
