Chapter 168
- On the other side of the city, in New York, Mia sat in her apartment, flipping through an old photo album filled with pictures of her and Lily. She had spent a significant amount of time with Lily, and despite her best efforts, she couldn't shake off the memories of her dear friend. Lily was more than just a friend; she was someone Mia shared everything with. As Mia gazed at the photos, she took a deep breath, reminiscing about the good old days when they were together, enjoying each other's company.
- Just as she was lost in thought, the doorbell rang, breaking the silence. Mia got up to answer the door, expecting it to be a neighbor or perhaps a delivery. But to her surprise, it was her ex-boyfriend, Jackson, standing at the doorstep, clearly intoxicated. Mia's expression turned from calm to concern as she asked, "What are you doing here, Jackson? I thought I made it clear that I'm not interested in getting back together. My decision hasn't changed."
- Jackson, however, seemed determined. He pushed his way into the apartment, his eyes pleading. "Please, Mia, just give me another chance. I've been trying to make amends for months. I know I messed up, but I promise to do better this time. Just don't shut me out completely."
