• "Oh, he asked me to tell you to take a break as we'll be gone for a few days," Dahlia fabricated after a brief pause, weighing her words carefully to avoid arousing suspicion. It wasn't as if she committed murder on a daily basis.
• The maid appeared taken aback. "Oh, that's the first time I've heard that." She lowered the laundry basket and continued, "Well, I suppose I should head out then. Enjoy your road trip!" she exclaimed cheerfully.
