Chapter 6

  • Chapter 06
  • How dare he say that to me? I feel the anger rising in me, and I clench my jaw and clench my fists as hard as I can to keep from jumping on him.
  • My father gives me a triumphant smile, surely glad to have pissed me off and nailed me. However, the game has only just begun and I don't intend to lose to them, not this time!
  • I quickly calm down so that my "father" removes the stupid grin that has stuck to his face before I lose my patience and my fists land on his wrinkled face! Yuck!
  • "That's enough! Stop behaving like four year olds! If you came here to do something, get out of here right now!"
  • shouted my grandmother
  • Poor thing. She screamed so many times I think she'd be speechless tomorrow.
  • "You're right, Grandma. I'm sorry for my behavior." I said, bowing my head.
  • She exhales a sigh and takes me in her arms.
  • "It's nothing, dear, can you serve the food?
  • I'm tired." She says as she sits down in a chair
  • I smile and go to serve them, starting first with my grandmother and then the other two fools who didn't bother to thank me.
  • As I sit down and quickly taste my food, I notice that my parents weren't touching their plate. shit! But eat, dammit, or my plan will be useless!
  • "So Louise, what did you want to tell me?"
  • Grandma said to my mother.
  • "Well, we found Elisa" said my mother.
  • My grandmother immediately spit out the water she had drunk, which landed on my mother's face.
  • Fuck!
  • I can't contain myself and burst out laughing under my mother's gaze. Her makeup has smeared and my God, she has a horrible face!
  • "What are you laughing at, bitch?" she exclaims.
  • I stop dead in my tracks. Don't tell me this idiot had the nerve to call me a slut!
  • I grab a piece of bread and stuff it in his mouth before spitting in his face.
  • My grandmother pulls my arm while my father takes the piece of bread out of my mother's mouth and gives me a murderous look and if I could kill, I think I'd be dead by now.
  • "How dare you do that to your mother you stupid bitch!" yelled my father.
  • Damn it, but isn't he going to do it too?
  • He came dangerously close to me and slapped me hard. The slap was so hard that I fell to the ground, slightly dazed.
  • He didn't miss me, the idiot! I stroke my cheek as Grandma helps me up before yelling at her son.
  • "RICHARD! I DIDN'T RAISE YOU LIKE THAT! SHE'S YOUR DAUGHTER, DAMN IT!
  • -It's okay, Grandma, he's just an irresponsible father!"
  • He comes up to me wanting to slap me again, but I pick up the pitcher of water on the table and spill the contents over his head.
  • "Son of a..."
  • I don't let him finish the sentence and the contents of my plate fall on his face.
  • And here's the job!
  • "THAT'S ENOUGH! GET OUT OF HERE! RIGHT NOW! OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
  • shouted my grandmother to my parents
  • They headed for the door, but before they could do so, my mother whispered something to Grandma and spun on her heels.
  • When they finally leave the house, my grandmother gives me a stern look.
  • I can see that Grandma is not very happy.
  • "You're going to clean this up, Emily! Look at the state of my kitchen! Did you think it was a dumping ground or something?
  • she grumbled.
  • "Sorry, Grandma."
  • She snorts and plants her gaze on mine.
  • "He's back.
  • -Who?" I asked perplexed.
  • "Elisa."
  • "When you say Elisa, do you mean my sister? The daughter of those two things who just left home?
  • -Yes, Emily. It's your sister that's back and she's the daughter of 'your parents' and not 'those two things' as you say." She corrected. "And please don't call them that in the future, they are not objects, come on!
  • I'm so glad to hear that my big sister is back because I've been looking forward to seeing her. I have missed her so much. However, I'm also angry at her for not visiting me even once when I was in jail.
  • I needed help, comfort and support, and the only person who could give it to me was my grandmother. She was the only one who encouraged me when I was in jail. She helped me a lot and I am very grateful to her, but I also needed my parents, my brother, my sister and also my ex-fiancé at that time, but none of them came. None of them. I was sad and angry with them, they didn't even think about me once. They didn't even care about what I went through in that damn cell.
  • I shake my head to get rid of the bad memories and start cleaning up the mess I made in the kitchen.
  • "I'll help you." My grandmother says to me as she picks up the dishes but I stop her immediately.
  • "No, Grandma. Go rest, you are very tired and because of me your kitchen looks like a dump, so it's my job to clean it."
  • -Are you sure, don't you want me to help you a little?" she asked me.
  • "I'm sure, Grandma. Go get some rest."
  • She nods and gives me a kiss on the forehead before going up to her room.
  • I gasp at the sight of the wreckage I've caused in the kitchen because of those two idiots who pushed me.
  • Then I start cleaning up before going up to my room, exhausted.
  • I remove my makeup, take off my clothes and put on my pajamas. I throw myself on the bed and look at the ceiling.
  • Even though my plan didn't work tonight, since my parents didn't eat the dinner I sprinkled with salt, I'm still satisfied.
  • I actually had a great time, especially the scene where my grandmother accidentally spits the water on my mother. She really looked like a witch, and even worse with the mascara running - it was really awful!

  • The next day
  • When I wake up, a delicious smell hits my nostrils.
  • I was very hungry, since I couldn't eat last night, so I quickly get up and run to the kitchen, where my grandmother was preparing breakfast.
  • "Good morning grandma.
  • -Good morning dear. I have prepared breakfast for you.
  • -Thank you grandma, you're a sweetheart!"
  • I give her a kiss on the cheek before sitting down to eat. I eat the pancakes she has prepared for me as she sits down across from me.
  • "Do you have anything to do today?" she asks me.
  • "No, why?
  • -I wanted you to go shopping, that is if it's okay with you.
  • -Okay, I'll go shopping after breakfast."
  • ***
  • While I was shopping quietly, I see a familiar face.
  • It was the cute guy I met at the bar! Andre Nelson.
  • "Andre!" I called out to him
  • He turned around with a frown, but immediately smiled when he saw me. He had recognized me.
  • "Oh hi! Emily right?"
  • He remembered my name. I'm so happy but I don't let it show even though inside I'm dancing for joy.
  • "Yes, that's right.
  • -What are you doing here?" he asked me.
  • Don't tell me, I came to cut my nails!
  • "Erm... logically, I'm shopping."
  • He chuckled lightly as he scratched the back of his neck nervously.
  • "Erm... Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?" He asked me, embarrassed
  • Tell me I'm dreaming! Did he just ask me out to dinner! A cute guy just asked me out! Oh my God, I think I'm going to faint.
  • "Well?"
  • I jump at the sound of his husky voice.
  • "Uh... Huh? What?"
  • He laughs lightly and I have to control myself not to jump on him because he's so hot.
  • "So, do you accept?
  • -YES! YES! I ACCEPT!" I shouted
  • I shouted so loud that some people turned to us. André laughed as my cheeks turned red.
  • What was I thinking, screaming my head off?
  • Suddenly, a little girl walks up to us with a smile on her lips. How cute she is!
  • "Mommy! Look, the lord has declared himself!" She says pointing at me.
  • WHAT?!
  • "No, no. This is a misunderstanding. He just asked me to have dinner with him."
  • The people around us, congratulate us and as I try to contradict them, André grabs me around the waist and puts his lips on mine.
  • What the hell is wrong with him?
  • I try to push him away, but his lips are so soft that I don't have the strength to stop the kiss.
  • Then he pulls his lips away from mine and smiles at me.
  • "You're a good kisser." He says winking at me.
  • Even though he's very sexy, I'm still wary because I don't really know him. I don't want to go through what I went through with Leo again.
  • ***
  • I walk to my car thinking about the kissing scene I had with André. He's a good kisser. I touch my lips and smile like an idiot when someone pushes me, knocking over all my purchases.
  • But it's not true.
  • "WHAT THE FUCK! LOOK WHERE YOU PUT YOUR DIRTY FUCKING LEGS NEXT TIME!" I yelled as I picked up my groceries.
  • "Maybe you're the one who should stop daydreaming in the middle of the parking lot."
  • I freeze at the sound of that voice.
  • Is it really...?
  • I look up to make sure and feel tears well up in my eyes.
  • No, I must be dreaming. Or maybe I've gone crazy after André's kiss? Yes, it's possible. I've gone crazy.
  • "How are you, Emily, after spending five years of your life in prison?"
