Chapter 59

• I stood in front of the mirror in our shared vast walking closet, staring right back at my image. I tried smiling, but my wolf whimpered as we ached for our mate. "Melody?" I heard his voice, but I didn't dare move a muscle, even though what I wanted was to run right into his arms.
• "Baby, I'm back," he added, the door of the closet creaking as he pulled it open. I looked at his image in the mirror as he closed the door and began closing the small distance between us. His eyes were trained right on my reflection, piercing into my glistening eyes. His earthly, woodsy scent invaded my nostrils, tempting me to sniff the air loudly.
