• "Is there a particular reason why you didn't show up while we combed the areas for those fuckers?" My father asked. I knew he meant rogues; he had always loathed them since they took his mother from him. I could feel the resentment in his rough voice and see it through his blazing eyes.
• "I was on my way to the southern border when I found Nova and her friends attacking Melody." I muttered, squirming in my father's office chair. He leaned back on his own behind his desk and quietly observed me.
