• "Where is everyone?" Melody looked around the empty pack grounds near my house. I had moved out of my parents' home once I turned 16 and kept a good distance from the rest of the pack. My house was situated near Astra's cabin, my grandmother, who was currently at my father's smaller pack, that was under Jasper's rule.
• "I know you're not ready to meet anyone else, so I ordered them to keep off this part of the pack." I beckoned her to walk with me, following the gravel pathway that led to the woods behind my house. I loved going for runs in my wolf form, especially at night, and I preferred doing them in my own space. The woods near my house were open for every member of the pack, but few explored them out of respect for my position.
