• My mouth dropped, and for the second time, I witnessed Draven in his warlock mode. The difference was that his anger wasn't directed at me but at Nova. Instead of gasps and awe from the pack, grave silence enveloped the pack square as green and red roots wound around Nova, trapping her on the ground.
• "How dare you?" Draven hissed, a prominent vein on his forehead popping. His eyes switched between red and green, a confirmation that his wolf had been pushed back. Nova couldn't talk; it was as if her mouth had been glued shut. Only her eyes were wide, but they remained unblinking as she took in the form the alpha was in. Only a few people in the pack knew about the time he attacked me and had to get locked up. And from the shock on their faces, it was evident.
