Chapter 7 Married By Order

• In Dominic's presence, Claudio called his assistant and canceled his acquisition of Guiver Group.
• “Don't dream about me treating her well. She isn't worthy,” he said before standing up and leaving Dominic's study.
• Once he stepped out of the study, he saw that Annalise was waiting while leaning against the wall.
• Annalise looked at him, and a trace of irritation and forbearance flashed across her clear eyes.
• Claudio glanced at her and walked off.
• Following that, Annalise entered the study. “Old Mr. Jundt, you said that as long as I marry into—”
• Before Annalise could finish her words, Dominic interrupted, “From now on, you are not allowed to speak about this to anyone else. The Guiver family's crisis has been averted, and Claudio will not do that in the future again.”
• Just as he was about to leave, Annalise stubbornly blocked his path and said, “Your words are baseless. You have to write me a pledge.”
• Upon hearing her words, even Benson was taken aback. It was evident that she was doubting Dominic's words.
• No one would like to have their words questioned by others, especially not someone as high and mighty as Dominic.
• His face darkened when he heard that the young lady wanted him to write her a pledge.
• “Mrs. Jundt,” Benson immediately interrupted, as he knew that Dominic was hot-tempered. He was worried that Dominic would vent his anger on Annalise and cause Claudio to lose his wife. “Old Mr. Jundt always keeps his words. You'll understand this over time. Since he said that he will back the Guiver family up, he will never do anything to harm them. There is no need for a pledge now. You're already married into the family. Writing a pledge will only hurt people's feelings.”
• Having said that, he glanced at Annalise to signal her to stop being stubborn.
• Annalise understood his good intentions and remained silent.
• Dominic, however, stormed out of the study.
• When he reached his bedroom, he exploded, “If it hadn't had to be her, the Jundt family would never have taken in such a daughter-in-law!”
• Benson tried to appease Dominic's anger as he said, “Calm down, Sir. Mrs. Jundt is still young and temperamental. Others don't know why she married into the Jundt family, but we do. Looking at it from her perspective, I can understand why she's behaving as such. After all, she has been a part of the Guiver family her whole life, so of course, she'll get anxious when Mr. Claudio said he wanted to acquire Guiver Group on their wedding night. She's just worried about her family.”
• Dominic's fury dissipated slightly. “Send two people over to guard their room. Don't let anything else happen tonight.”
• “Yes, Sir.”
• Annalise knew that she had angered Dominic, but she still felt uneasy.
• She was worried that over time, the Jundt family would forget about what they had said and break their promise.
• However, she didn't dare to confront Dominic again.
• As she strolled along the corridor, she suddenly heard a commotion downstairs.
• Out of curiosity, she peeked over the railing to have a look and saw that Claudio was about to leave the house, and Markus and Benson were trying to hold him back.
• “Mr. Claudio, it's your wedding night. You should be spending time with Mrs. Jundt. It isn't appropriate for you to go out on your wedding night.”
• Upon hearing from the housekeeper that Claudio was about to leave, Benson had rushed over to stop him.
• Markus was also just about to leave the house when he bumped into Claudio. “Claudio, you're already going to be thirty. Will you stop being so childish? Annalise is your wife. You have to be responsible for her. If you leave tonight, how is she going to hold her head up in the Jundt residence?”
• “Markus, I'm sure you're more aware of the reasons for this marriage than me. I'm only following the orders to get married. That doesn't mean that I'm going to consummate the marriage. Don't try to hold me back. You won't be able to.”
• Just as Claudio was about to leave, Markus blocked his path again. “Annalise is looking at you from the second floor.”
• Claudio looked up and saw a girl in a dress looking down at him. He gulped and left the Jundt residence without another word.
