Beside the car, Annalise could see her parents standing under the bright sunlight. She cleared her throat and quirked her lips into a sweet smile. Her eyes curved into the shape of a crescent moon. “Mom, Dad, we're back!”
When Claudio walked over after retrieving the gifts from the trunk, he was momentarily shocked by the expression on her face.
