Chapter 8 Brave Amelia

  • Amelia Snyder
  • Luna told me everyone in Sierra High School was scared of Trisha because her father was wealthy.
  • I stifled a laugh as I felt the reason was absurd. "You're bullying your classmates because you have a wealthy father?"
  • Trisha sneered, "So what if I'm making use of my father? Are you able to depend on your father, village bumpkin?"
  • "What a fool!" I jeered.
  • "You've no right to make friends with Castor. You're such a shameless moron! Let me teach you a lesson!"
  • I skillfully threw a coin at Trisha while she was hurling insults at me. My reactions were so swift that I was confident no one would notice.
  • "How dare you hit me, village bumpkin! I'm going to report you to the principal. You're going to be expelled from school!" Trisha shrieked, enraged at having been struck on the head by a coin.
  • I straightened my back and looked her in the eyes. "Who saw me hitting you?"
  • The students, who were watching the commotion, missed my attack on Trisha. They did notice, however, that she was hit by a coin while criticizing me.
  • When I noticed Trisha was about to attack me, I grabbed her arm and gently twisted it. I had complete control of her body and knocked her to the ground. She started wailing when she realized she could not get up. "Help! The village bumpkin attacked me!"
  • "Never appear in front of me," I sneered as I locked my gaze on her. I then walked away without saying another word.
  • The students applauded in admiration of my bravery. "She's so awesome! It's the first time anyone has dared to offend the Campus Belle."
  • Trisha, agitated by the students' applause, began to snap her head off.
  • Halfway down the corridor, I bumped into Castor, who had just returned from the cafeteria. He was a little surprised to see that I was unscathed. "Have you dealt with her, Amelia?"
  • I merely looked at Castor and avoided answering his question.
  • Benjamin Cohen
  • I was negotiating a deal with my friend in the office when my subordinate spoke through the door crack, "Mr. Cohen, Ms. Amelia got into a fight with someone at school. One of them is the daughter of Meadow Corporation's CEO. The Meadows are on their way to the school to demand Ms. Amelia's expulsion."
  • I glanced at him and asked, "Who won the fight?"
  • "I heard Ms. Amelia won," my subordinate reported.
  • The man sitting on the black sofa gloated, "Your man should know better than to bother you with such trivial matters! Since when does Mr. Cohen care about women? He's only concerned about power…"
  • That was my friend, Marcus Waltz, the son of the renowned Waltz family in Sudbury City. His reprimands had left my subordinate visibly perplexed.
  • "Be quiet!" I interrupted him. Then I turned to my subordinate and ordered, "Give the principal my name card. I'd like to see if anyone dares to kick her out."
  • My subordinate's eyes lit up upon receiving the clear instructions. "Got it! I'll be on my way!"
  • Marcus crossed his legs and teased, "Is that your prey, Benjamin?"
  • I rolled my eyes and said flatly, "She isn't my prey. She's my partner!"
  • Amelia Snyder
  • My heroic defeat of the Campus Belle, Trisha Meadows, had become the talk of the school within twenty minutes of my return to the classroom.
  • I was summoned to the principal's office shortly after. I noticed a few familiar faces from the earlier incident when I arrived.
  • Trisha's mother snapped, "What's becoming of the students at Sierra High School? All she does is bully her classmates and disrespect her elders. She's to be kicked out of the school immediately!"
  • "I'm a bully?" I said in disbelief.
  • The spiteful woman pointed at Trisha and complained to Mr. Flores, "Take a look at what she did to my darling daughter. Her arms are so badly injured! Her classmates can testify that she's responsible for this."
  • "Did you hit her?" Mr. Flores asked, scowling.
  • I shook my head and explained, "They called me out of class to challenge me to a fight."
  • Recognition dawned on Mr. Flores' face as he seemed to figure out what was going on.
  • However, Mrs. Meadow interrupted, "What the hell are you saying, brat? You were the one who started the fight. I'm not going to let the matter rest unless you apologize."
  • The Meadows seemed hell-bent on getting me expelled from school today. I caught Trisha giving a lopsided grin as she thought she was victorious.
  • "You must be dreaming," I hissed back.
  • Mrs. Meadow's expression hardened, and she shrieked at Mr. Odin, "Look at her! She's so disrespectful."
  • "Amelia, you mentioned that Trisha asked you to leave the class. Were any witnesses present?" Mr. Odin inquired. He wanted me to prove that Trisha initiated the fight.
  • Trisha smiled triumphantly, knowing that no one in school would dare to speak up for me. True enough, the students to whom Mr. Odin spoke remained silent for fear of being expelled from school. Trisha's father, after all, wielded considerable power in Sudbury City. Many people were afraid to offend such a powerful family.
  • "Mr. Odin, no one saw that I bullied Amelia. She's responsible for my injuries," Trisha declared confidently.
  • Mr. Odin looked at me helplessly and urged, "Why don't you apologize to Trisha and her friends, Amelia?"
  • Trisha gave me a smug look as if she had just won the battle.
  • Suddenly, a familiar voice called, "I know who started the fight." A tall and lanky man in a white tracksuit stepped out from the shadows - it was Castor.
  • There was no doubt that everyone was excited by his appearance.
  • "Hi, Castor! You're so good-looking!"
  • "What's Castor doing here?"
  • "Is he here to speak up for Trisha?"
  • "Trisha and Castor are a pair made in heaven."
  • Castor gave me a glance before turning to Trisha. The girl leaned in and looked pityingly at him, "Castor, Amelia was from the village and had always been a troublemaker at her former school. She's only been at Sierra High School for a couple of days, and she's already hurt me…"
  • She started shedding crocodile tears to gain his trust.
  • "I'm more familiar with Amelia than you are," Castor cut her off coolly. He then turned to Mr. Odin and said, "I saw Trisha hit her first."
