Chapter 16 Call Out by The Cohen Family

  • Amelia Snyder
  • After school, I went to a grand hotel in Sudbury City to meet up with my subordinate. A young man named Adam was already waiting for me in the presidential room.
  • "Ms. Amelia, you're here." Adam bowed and greeted me. I walked towards the main sofa and took a seat. Adam approached me and said, "A client is requesting a call out for 50 million dollars. Would you like to accept this offer?"
  • It had been quite a while since I took on any surgeries. 50 million dollars was not a small sum. "Who's the client?" I asked.
  • Adam handed me his phone and said, "It's Mr. Cohen. Old Mrs. Cohen experienced a cerebral hemorrhage three years ago, and no one managed to cure her. Her condition worsened lately and requires an immediate craniotomy."
  • The Cohen Family?
  • Memories of that evil-looking man flooded my mind. After contemplating for a while, I said, "Alright. I'll do it."
  • Adam accepted the offer and obtained the address of the hospital. I made my way there immediately.
  • As I arrived at the hospital, the nurse that led the way to the ward said, "There are numerous medical experts inside, you better not wet yourself."
  • I could tell from her tone that she does not believe that I am the doctor that they speak of. It was no surprise to me as I am still young. The Dr. Icy Heart that they have in mind must be an old geezer and not an underaged teenage girl.
  • "Let's keep moving," I said. There was no point in arguing as I always proved them wrong with my abilities.
  • As I entered the ward, I saw a bedridden old woman surrounded by numerous people. All of them turned toward me as I approached. A man dressed in a black suit walked over and asked, "Are you, Dr. Icy Heart?"
  • I nodded. The man reached out and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Brandon Ross. Mr. Cohen has urgent matters to attend to so he'll arrive sooner."
  • I remained silent and walked toward the patient. "Could you brief me on the condition of the patient?" I asked. "Old Mrs. Cohen had always been ill. She almost lost her life three years ago due to an acute cerebral hemorrhage. Lately, her condition worsened." Brandon answered.
  • "Dr. Icy, can you treat Old Mrs. Cohen?" Brandon doubted my abilities. "Yes," I answered.
  • A doctor standing in the ward approached me and asked, "Young lady, are you sure you're a certified doctor? This is a life at stake here!"
  • "Are you certain that you're the Dr. Icy Heart that they spoke of? You look like a clueless brat to me," another doctor added.
  • I glared at them. Brandon noticed that I was offended and uttered, "Keep your mouths shut! None of you are capable of performing the surgery."
