Chapter 5 Campus Belle's Revenge

  • Luna Porter
  • Before Amelia's arrival, everyone was talking about the village bumpkin who would be joining the class. So when she finally showed up, they were eager to get a good look at her.
  • Luna Porter was intrigued by her new classmate as well. She, like her peers, was taken aback when she noticed a petite young girl standing next to Adrian. They wondered, is she our new classmate? Since when is a village bumpkin's skin so fair and smooth?
  • Humans were drawn naturally to new sights. Furthermore, it was hard to make cynical remarks when staring at such a beautiful face. The students who gossiped fervently earlier had all become silent.
  • Adrian asked that everyone pay attention to the girl's introduction. After nodding her head lightly, she said, "Hello, I'm Amelia Snyder."
  • After a long pause, Adrian asked, "That's it?"
  • The class burst out laughing when Amelia nodded her head. Adrian smiled awkwardly and said, "All right then. Please take a seat at any of the empty desks."
  • The class seating had been arranged according to the previous semester's results. The top twenty students were able to select their seats, while the rest would be randomly assigned by the teacher. Due to Amelia's unique situation, she was allowed to pick her seat.
  • Luna could not take her gaze away from Amelia. She could feel her heart racing when the latter sat beside her.
  • Adrian left the classroom after giving brief instructions. All the students began to chatter excitedly amongst themselves.
  • "Wow, the new student is kind of pretty!"
  • "Not only should the Jokester's ranking be changed, but so should the Class Bella!"
  • Luna caught her new tablemate staring out of the window. Hence, she scribbled on a piece of paper and passed it over to her. She wrote, nice to meet you. I'm Luna.
  • Amelia turned to look at Luna before writing her reply. Hello.
  • Luna eagerly continued the conversation after noticing Amelia's response. I'm glad to meet you. I hope we get along well
  • Even after the first class ended, the discussion about Amelia continued. Luna, like her peers, could not help but steal occasional glances at her.
  • Amelia did not seem to notice their stares as she fixated on the scenery outside the window. She sat with her chin resting on her slender and fair fingers, her back arched into a picture-perfect posture.
  • When the school bell rang, signaling the end of class, a large crowd gathered outside Class A. Luna noticed that Trisha Meadow, the Campus Belle, had also joined the commotion. Angelica stepped out of the classroom to look for Trisha. Their expressions turned sour as they engaged in a heated discussion.
  • Trisha Meadow was known as Sierra High School's Campus Belle. She had held on to the position for the past two years. However, her title was being challenged today as many boys were gushing over Amelia. Luna knew Trisha was bound to feel threatened by the girl's arrival.
  • Luna watched Trisha's every move. Finally, she turned to her tablemate and whispered urgently, "You're in trouble, Amelia."
  • "What happened?" Amelia asked in confusion.
  • When Luna was sure that no one was spying on them, she explained, "Our Campus Belle came earlier. Her name is Trisha Meadows…"
  • "Okay." Amelia nodded her head.
  • Luna was surprised to see the girl so calm and unconcerned about the situation.
  • "Do you realize the gravity of the matter, Amelia? I'm telling you, Trisha is known for taking revenge on those prettier than her."
  • Amelia thanked Luna half-heartedly. "Thank you for the reminder, but I'm not afraid! I'm confident that justice will be served. I'll confront her if she dares cause trouble."
  • Amelia's careless attitude left Luna speechless. I wasted my breath trying to warn her.
  • Amelia Snyder
  • I knew that Trisha was watching my every move after Luna, my tablemate, warned me.
  • I spotted my sister speaking to Trisha.
  • Angelica scoffed, "The boys must be blind. How dare they say that Amelia is comparable to you?"
  • Trisha replied, "Hold on a second. You are a Snyder too. Is she related to you?"
  • Angelica hurriedly explained, "Of course not! She's a village bumpkin. How could we possibly be related?"
  • Trisha uttered, "There's nothing to worry about if she's just a village bumpkin."
  • Nobody at school knows I'm the Snyder family's eldest daughter. Everyone assumed it was Angelica. Since they were unaware of my identity, they were unafraid to teach me a lesson.
  • I opted to walk home alone after school instead of taking the Snyder family's car. After walking for a short distance, I noticed someone was following me.
  • I paused in my tracks and said coolly, "Show yourself."
  • When I turned around, I saw a few thugs smirking at me. "Hey, pretty girl. I heard that you're Sierra High School's newest Campus Belle. Would you like our company?" The boy's friends cackled at his provocative remarks.
  • I was delighted by the encounter because it had been a long time since I had the chance to practice my moves. Now was the time for me to unleash my power.
  • I yelled, "You're courting death!"
  • The thugs became even more enthused when they saw that I was unafraid of their threats. They gave each other a knowing look and got into position.
  • I got into defensive mode, ready to take on their impending attacks. However, a man suddenly appeared and shielded me with his arms. He was blindsided as a thug delivered a flying kick to his body.
  • Bang! He received yet another kick to his back.
  • When I finally managed to get a clear view of the mysterious man, I shrieked, "It's you!"
  • The man changed position and launched a flying kick that brought all the thugs to the ground. "Are you all right?" he frowned, looking at me with concern.
  • "Why are you following me?" I pulled myself away from his chest and questioned.
  • The thugs fled when they realized they could not defeat the man.
  • Benjamin stood before me and said earnestly, "I wanted to thank you."
  • I scowled and replied, "I didn't manage to save you at the auction. Stop following me from now on."
  • Despite my instructions, Benjamin followed me all the way home. I could no longer control my annoyance. "Can you stop following me?!"
  • The man stepped forward and smiled seductively. "I injured myself while trying to save you. What should you do?"
  • "Hmph!" I replied coldly, "If it wasn't for your interference, I would have long defeated those thugs!"
  • Benjamin chuckled as he looked toward the Snyder family's residence. "All right, I shan't bother you anymore. Hurry, head home. I'll look for you another time."
  • I ignored the man's words and turned away from him. To my surprise, he embraced me and whispered in my ear, "Let's start over. Hello, my name is Benjamin Cohen!"
