Chapter 6 My Celebrity Classmate

  • Benjamin Cohen
  • Amelia's scent lingered in my nose as I watched her walk through the Snyder residence's gate. She had a rose scent with a hint of pine. It smelled amazing.
  • "Partner! Partner!" Eric, my wolf, called out ecstatically when it noticed her scent.
  • The girl was my destined partner. Last night, at the auction house, I begged her to bid for me after Eric picked up her scent. Even though my men were one step ahead of her and saved me before she could, I now had a legitimate reason to speak with her.
  • When I returned home last night, my men informed me that the Saffron Night Society was responsible for my kidnapping. I immediately issued an order for their extermination. I also learned that the girl had just reunited with the Snyder family. There was no other information available about her. She was really an interesting girl.
  • "We need to be patient, Eric. She hasn't grown up yet. You do realize that she isn't even 18 years old," I cautioned. A wolf could not detect its companion's scent until it was 18 years old. Hence, Amelia was unaware that I was her destined partner.
  • Since I laid my eyes on her at the auction house, I could not stop thinking about her. Hence, I specially made the trip to her school and followed her home after school. It was fortunate that I protected her from those thugs. I would never let them off if they dared to harm her.
  • Wait for me, my destined partner, my love.
  • Amelia Snyder
  • Today was my second day at school. As soon as I sat down, I overheard my classmates chatting.
  • "I hear that the son of the Oberon family will be coming to our school!"
  • "Are you referring to the singer, Castor Oberon?"
  • "How's that possible? Why would a singer attend school with us?"
  • "Why not? I heard that Central Valley and Rutherford High School invited Castor to their school. He rejected them all!"
  • "Are you serious? Castor is so dashing! How I wish he could be my boyfriend…"
  • I had intended to put my head on the table to rest. However, the girls' relentless chatter was a bother. When I overheard the familiar name mentioned, I blurted, "Castor Oberon?"
  • My tablemate, Luna, glanced at me and asked, "Have you not heard of Castor Oberon, Amelia?" She reasoned that a village girl might not be aware of the entertainment industry. Therefore, she explained, "Castor Oberon entered showbiz at the age of fifteen. During his three-year career, he has shot many movies and TV dramas. Most importantly, he is one of the country's most popular singers. He rose to prominence with the song 'Starry Night.' It earned him numerous accolades."
  • It seemed that Luna was also Castor's fan; she could not stop giggling whenever she talked about him.
  • I wondered to myself, is he the same man that I know?
  • The loud commotion at the door interrupted my thoughts. Luna immediately joined the crowd and screamed, "You're so handsome, Castor!"
  • A tall, slender young boy dressed in a crisp white shirt entered the classroom. Angelica walked toward him and said sweetly, "Welcome, Castor. I'm Angelica Snyder, the Class Monitor."
  • I scoffed inwardly when I learned that Angelica was the Class Monitor.
  • Castor maintained a straight face and nodded his head. "Hello."
  • The girls started shrieking, "Oh my gosh! Castor is so cool! I love him so much!"
  • Feeling confident of her charisma, Angelica smiled and said, "I have an empty seat beside me, Castor. Why don't you sit there?"
  • Castor shook his head and replied, "It's all right. I can find my seat." He looked around the back of the class for empty seats. When I noticed his gaze, I lowered my head and pretended to use my phone.
  • Castor Oberon
  • The boy was annoyed at the girls who were screaming at the top of their lungs. While searching for an empty seat, he spotted a familiar face.
  • Oh my goodness! Isn't that the renowned composer? Castor rubbed his eyes, convinced that his eyes were playing a trick on him. However, the girl, who was playing with her phone, did not vanish. It's her!
  • When Angelica noticed Castor was rooted to the ground, she inquired, "What's wrong, Castor?"
  • The boy ignored her and dashed to the back of the class. He did not mind his new classmates' puzzled expressions as he took his seat.
  • "It's best that you sit with me, Castor. The students seated at the back of the class have terrible grades. They may impede your performance," Angelica coaxed.
  • "It's all right," Castor said irritably.
  • "But…" Before Angelica could persuade further, the school bell rang.
  • The English teacher, Yelena Thornhill, walked in with an arm full of books. She instructed, "It's time for class. Be seated right now!"
  • Castor caught Angelica giving Amelia the death stare before walking away grudgingly. Once the girl was gone, the boy tapped on Amelia's back and said, "I didn't know the famous composer, Amelia Snyder, studies in this school!"
  • Amelia turned around and glared at him. "Are you courting death?" He realized he had spoken too loudly and might have accidentally revealed her identity. Despite so, he thought the girl looked adorable when her cheeks flushed with anger.
  • "All right, I'll lower my volume." Castor cleared his throat before continuing, "Why do you attend this school?"
  • Amelia replied, "My family made the arrangement. They said that it was a shame I was so poorly educated."
  • Castor was appalled by her family's criticism. How can a successful composer like Amelia be a shame? All the best music schools in the world who die to have her! Moreover, my famed song, Starry Night, was composed by her.
  • Just then, Amelia's tablemate patted her shoulder and warned her to keep quiet because Yelena was known to have a bad temper. True enough, she threw a book on the table and yelled, "Why aren't the girls at the back of the class concentrating?" She pointed at Amelia and shrieked, "Aren't you the new student? Get up here and attempt the question."
  • Amelia got to her feet and studied the question on the whiteboard. She frowned as she made her way to the front of the class. When Castor observed that the other students in the class were eager to see Amelia embarrass herself, he furrowed his brows.
  • After staring at the whiteboard for a few minutes, Amelia turned to Yelena and said, "Ms. Thornhill, I didn't study English in high school."
  • Castor smirked because he knew Amelia spoke English; she had written all the English songs in his album. As a result, he deduced that the girl was attempting to avoid answering the teacher's question.
  • "Since Amelia doesn't know how to answer the question, who's willing to help her with it?" Yelena asked.
  • Angelica immediately stood up and said confidently, "May I try answering the question, Ms. Thornhill?"
  • Yelena nodded her head and said, "Sure, Angelica."
  • Angelica took less than two minutes to figure out the answer. In response, Yelena smiled brightly and praised, "You're as brilliant as ever, Angelica." She then turned to Amelia and said coldly, "Return to your seat and pay attention to class."
  • Yelena continued sarcastically after Amelia returned to her seat, "I'm not interested in learning what underhand means you used to get into the school. All I ask is that everyone pays attention during class. You're too young to seduce the boys in class."
  • Castor seethed inwardly, is the teacher courting death? Why is she dragging me into this mess?
  • Next, he heard the students making cynical remarks. "Haha! They are both Snyders, but one is intelligent while the other is not."
  • Oh no, Amelia's going to be furious, Castor thought. When he turned to face Amelia, he saw she had stopped flipping the textbook. Instead, she raised her head and gave Yelena an icy stare.
  • Luna, who was reading her textbook, rubbed her arms and muttered, "Why is it suddenly so cold?"
