Chapter 34 A Loyal Heart

• Maria had spent the night tossing and turning, her mind racing with thoughts of how she could get close to William again. She knew she had to tell him about Naomi's true intentions, but Naomi's constant presence and strict control over the household made it nearly impossible.
• As the first light of dawn crept through her window, Maria sprang out of bed, determined to find a way. She decided that the best opportunity would be during breakfast. William had always appreciated her home-cooked meals, and perhaps a familiar breakfast tray would be her ticket back into his room.
