Chapter 52 Testing boundaries

• I wanted to leave, but I was not stupid. I knew that I had to take time and plan in order to have a successful exit. Otherwise, it would all end in a bigger mess than the one I’d seen when I tried to escape from Micheal Frey’s pack. I walked along the perimeter wall, touching it occasionally. Every touch sent a surge of hope through my body.
• When I reached the part I wasn’t supposed to go beyond without permission, I paused. Looking around, I saw that there was no one in the vicinity. Taking a deep breath, I decided to continue while trying to come up with excuses of why I was there in my mind.
