Chapter 29 No Peace For The Wicked

• Samantha feigned some sort of understanding before excusing herself and leaving. I was relieved that she was gone. Suddenly, the world was quieter. I had been scared of the quiet but it actually calmed me down. I began to feel better, and realised it was all I actually wanted. I wanted peace; I thought it was only inner peace, but clearly external peace was important as well.
• After a cold shower, I lay on the bed. The peace soon disappeared and was replaced by certain restlessness. All the negative thoughts I had repressed started to pour back vigorously. I hated being uncomfortable when away from home.
