Chapter 76 Prayers

It felt like an eternity waiting for lunch to be served. As I walked to the Green House, I heard approaching footsteps ascending the stairs. I readied myself, patiently anticipating the appearance of a figure. To my delight, it was Paul. A loud exhale escaped him as he reached the top of the stairs, and he stretched his arms out for a hug.
My heart filled with joy. He had returned earlier than expected.
I hurriedly moved towards him, leaping into his embrace. My feelings towards him had evolved as if my aimless contemplation had finally found purpose. Our lips met, igniting a rush of excitement. Paul made his way towards the bedroom, securely cradling me, without needing any explanation why.
