Chapter 72 Love And Duty

  • Asher's POV
  • The silence in the car was deafening as we had driven back from the hotel, the weight of Willow’s departure hanging heavy in the air. I didn’t know if it was the exhaustion from the previous night or the gnawing worry in my chest, but something felt wrong. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Willow had left the Crescent Moon Pack, left us, just like that. And we were powerless to stop her.
  • I couldn’t shake the feeling that we’d lost something precious. A bond that had just begun to form between us, something that could’ve been so much more, and she had slipped away before it even had a chance to take root. It didn't matter to me what we could have done wrong, all I knew was that it was going to be a real struggle having to adjust to the life we've known all our lives because of something that happened two days ago.
