Chapter 73 Seventy Three

  • Desmond was gone. Temporarily or permanently, I didn’t know. My mind was all over the place. I didn’t know what to think or feel, except I didn’t want cops pounding on my front door. Hopefully, my incubus had kept his word and didn’t leave me in the lurch before vanishing. My twitching eyes darted at Mason and broadened with astonishment. His bruised, beaten, and bloody skin was now glowing with health. Even his clothes, soaked in blood a few moments ago, were spotless and as smooth as newly ironed.
  • Mason’s current condition made the gruesome scene I had walked into a mere illusion. At least he had the decency to right his wrong. Our relationship might have a chance of surviving if he admitted his wrongdoing and made amends.
  • “Mason,” I called, down on my knees, close to his body. “Can you hear my voice?”
