• Spending time with my niece gave me the clarity to know that I would protect her till my last breath just like her parents did. She didn’t know about our kind mostly because her mother tried so hard to keep that part hidden from her. She was powerful and so many people were looking for that kind of power. We planned on hiding it for so long that it became hard to tell what she was. She couldn’t come into her nature because of the odora and the silver-laced potion her mother had her drinking, the silver is not meant to poison her but with the right amount, it is to weaken her wolf and keep her still till the time is right.
• When my sister called me to tell me that she sensed danger and not just the kind that would pass, she warned me to prepare to have her daughter come live with me where there were werewolves who could protect her if the need be. I accepted it wholeheartedly because I wasn’t able to give birth before my mate died. It was something I struggled for a while but immediately let go of. She gave me all the requirements I needed to prepare for Avilla to come down here. I informed the knights who in turn promised to keep the secrets. They were good and well-trusted friends of mine and I would trust them with anything and that is including my life. They promised to watch over her using Camilla their daughter, Rohan won’t care because he was always brooding and insisted on being alone most of the time. He has always been serious with his warrior training that he barely had time to deal with teenage problems. With Camilla to protect Avilla, nobody would dare touch her in school. Camilla was the social butterfly of the knight’s family, she was a strong wolf who was capable of protecting herself and Avilla too. And I knew that if she couldn’t handle it then Rohan will step up to protect his sister.
