Chapter 29 The Escape!

• Serenity was alert enough to realize that the king had picked up on the frantic beating of her heart and had stealthily sought a hiding place. She knew that if she stayed inside the castle, she would be discovered.
• Breathless, Serenity ran through the corridors, managing to exit the castle and enter the dense, shadowy forest. She displayed impressive agility as she leaped between branches and trunks. In a matter of seconds, she covered a great distance between the castle and the forest.
• However, the sound of her footsteps crunching against the leaves and branches, along with the howls of the werewolves pursuing her, betrayed her presence. Serenity was certain that the relentless pounding of her heart could be heard from a great distance if not muffled by the sounds of the environment.
