• Francesca is stunned to hear all of Leonardo's words.
• "Forgive me," she says sadly. "I ask for your forgiveness, my love. I never forgot you, never. In my thoughts, you were always there, darling, and our children... Then I didn't know how to come back and face you. I know you don't believe me," she sobs. "You don't know how much I regret missing the best moments with our children. But there's still time, please," she approaches him and kneels before him. "I want to get you back, I still love you, you still make me feel that burning fire in my heart... The children, I know they will love me and I will explain everything that happened to them. They'll understand, I know," she says, holding her hands out in supplication. "Don't keep me away from them, Leo. You are the only thing I have."
