Chapter 28
- "Francesca, let's go to my room," he asks, trying not to be so hard on her, but he doesn't even help her up; he just keeps his distance and walks away. This leaves her stunned; he's not the Leonardo from before, who would help her, who would carry her in his arms. This leaves her thoughtful, and when they get to the room, the first thing he does is pour himself a shot of whiskey and look out the window.
- "Darling," Francesca whispers, watching Di Napoli's broad back. She knows he's tense and fighting with his inner demons not to explode with rage. But what she doesn't know is that the gaze of her children's father is on the nanny, Sofia Mangano, who is looking at the sky as if she were talking to herself. "I just... I want you to listen to me, my love, because I love you and I love our children. I would never abandon them just like that. There's a reason," she continues speaking while he keeps watching Sofia, who is now getting into the car because the chauffeur is going to take her to pick up the twins, along with Cedric.
- "Now that I've returned, more serene, willing to do anything for you and our children, I want you to fire that nanny. She has dared to challenge me, darling," she says, approaching him carefully.
