• Mrs. Minerva smiles at Sofía, who is anxious to know where she met her mother. "She was a good employee; she worked for me, in one of my properties. She was dedicated to her work, and no one did the housework better than her. She was very meticulous and liked everything to be perfect, even the floor to be shiny," as she tells her, Minerva remembers how Sofía's mother cleaned the house.
• "She was kind and spoke of you with a lot of love and affection. She had shown me a photo of you when you were little, and when I saw you for the first time I thought... I've seen her before. Then I felt in my heart that it must be you, and that's why I called you. Upon learning that your name was Sofía Mangano, I remembered your mother's words even more clearly.
