• “Where is Janet?” Keith asked, cradling little Kyle in his arms as the latter tightly embraced him. Surrounded by unknown cops, his little thumping heart finally found solace in the care of Keith’s arms.
• “We don’t know!” the chief said, his voice filled with uncertainty. “I tried to stop her, but she jumped out of the car so Sebastian could stop chasing us. What a selfless mother!”
• “Is she out of her mind or something?” Keith had a comically absurd expression on his face. “Not once did she think about Kyle? How will we look after him?” He lovingly stroked Kyle’s back.
