• After an unsettling conversation with Connor, Janet’s mind was filled with disturbing thoughts. To distract herself from the incessant voices in her head, she sought solace in the pages of a new novel.
• Lounging on the couch, she let her long legs dangle over the edge, engrossed in a new Mafia book based on Cosa Nostra. Halfway through, she let out a groan of disappointment at the ending. She intended to toss the book onto the centre table, but it slipped from her grasp and ended up falling onto the floor.
• “What are you doing?” Sebastian walked in unannounced and she flinched.
