Chapter 23 Back To Leoma

• Waking up in the cave, the Alp sensed danger. His thick leathery skin started to quiver. Sitting up he looked down at his abdomen. His skin moved just enough to see it, but he felt it also. Sniffing the air, he couldn’t smell anything, but his body was telling him otherwise. His wounds were healed, making the Alp satisfied that sleeping helped him to recover. The Alp stood up, walking to the entrance he looked around. Trying to see if the danger was near, was it an animal or was it the warriors tracking him?
• Looking into the forest he didn’t see anyone or thing. Suddenly he heard ruffling, crunching of leaves. His eyes shot open wide; they are coming. He took off out of the cave with his Alp speed and into the forest away from where the sounds of crunching leaves were coming from.
• Heading deeper into the thick of trees and down the mountain, his body was telling him to get back to Leoma. He had to mate with her again, his body was craving her, licking the poison on her made his body react to her also. He could feel she was going into the heat again. His primal urge was to get back to her at all costs. Forgetting about the hunger that he was feeling, his only thought was her. Going farther down the hill he heard a blast from above. Stopping briskly from hearing the blast he slid slightly in the mud. Turning he saw dust billowing in the air and the sound of the cave collapsing.
