Chapter 58
- [Blythe]
- I was standing outside his car, and I noticed that my car on the other side of the road had its flat tire replaced already. I had to run fast towards it while the road was still clear, and the tire had indeed been changed. I knew that Larkin did it, he had probably gone somewhere to get something to eat. I never wanted to be found by him again when he returned, so I decided to get in my own car. I tried turning up the engine, but I remembered that the battery got drained last night.
- I really wanted to leave the area, and it was a good thing that I recalled an instance in the past when me and my grandma also got our car’s battery drained. She told me I can ask people around to push the car so I could start the engine, I could also use another battery to jump start the engine—but that sounded too complicated for me. I noticed that my location was on an uphill slope and once I took off the handbrakes, my car would move and it was enough to start the engine. Luckily, it worked.
