Chapter 12
- ALPHA HARDEN
- "You two look perfect together," she mumbled, her voice barely a whisper, as I walked closer. A frown creased her forehead, and the air around us grew weird, heavy with something I couldn’t quite name. I watched her chest rise and fall. When she lifted her chin to meet my gaze, her eyes were so clear, I could see my own reflection in them, distorted just a little by the worry there. She licked her lips, and a familiar heat pooled low in my gut. I shifted my weight, widening my stance to try and hide the obvious tightness in my pants.
- A small, shaky breath escaped her. A blush, faint but noticeable, stained her cheeks. Her eyelids fluttered, then she dropped her chin, letting her hair fall forward and hide her face. "Uh… I’ll… I’ll just go upstairs.”
