Chapter 53 Mason
- I had been so close to allowing myself to try to mark her. I wanted this girl to be mine. I know that I barely knew her, but there was simply something about her that called to me. Regardless of the fact there was no actual matebond, it was like she was sent into my life for a reason. She filled a hole within my soul... a sense I cannot understand nor explain, but it is there, and has been since I met her. I had not been able to shake that sense.
- And when I finally had her within my arms... kissing her... hearing her moan my name... I wanted to put my mark upon her... and, I think I likely would have done, if Echo had not so bluntly given me a warning to wake up to the reality that it was not the right time. And him so coldly telling me that it was likely not what Gianna wanted, then I would have messed things up and tried to mark her. I was so lost in wanting her I had lost my mind…
- It was one of the few times my wolf and I had been on different pages with our thoughts. Hell, I don’t even think we were in the same book at that moment! Echo was harsh with his words, pulling me heavily back to reality, and I stepped back from Gianna like she was going to burn me.
