Chapter 49 Mason
- I cannot control the repulsive feeling of displeasure spreading through me as I sense her terror. This is not a feeling I am accustomed to. I am a werewolf after all. An Alpha at that, feeling fear is a good thing. It shows we are in control. That we have the upper edge. But, right now, that was not what I wanted, nor needed. I simply wanted this girl to listen to me.
- “Gianna.” I reached for her arm, and saw her visibly flinch. Wow, so now, not only was she scared of me, but she believed I was suddenly capable of hurting her?! I cannot believe that she had never mentioned that she was a wolf… though, in her defense, I guess I never told her either… it was not something one openly discusses to those outside of our pack, and de-scenting spray is a marvelous creation to protect us from other wolves detecting us when out of pack…
- “Please, just leave me alone.” her voice broke now into a sob. “Yes, he was my mate. I rejected him, okay? Is that what you need to know?”
