Chapter 39 Truth

• I had been pacing around the living room for hours, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn’t stay still, not even for a minute, every passing minute felt longer than it really was.
• Every time I heard a noise outside, I rushed to the window, hoping it was them. But every time, it was just the wind, Martha had told me they would be back soon, but the wait was killing me. My nerves were on edge, and the pit in my stomach grew heavier by the minute.
