Chapter 38 Closure
- I snapped out of my memory lane, taking a good look at the place. My heart beat with anticipation. For some reason, I wished I had never come. I couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to remain in the dark, to keep hoping without knowing. There was a certain comfort in ignorance that I now longed for.
- We walked toward the dungeon where the rogue had been held captive. The air was heavy with the stench of damp stone and mildew. I couldn't help but wonder if there were any survivors left from that dreadful night, or if it was just us.
- “Welcome, Alpha Zephyr, Beta Xander,” Mataz, the Alpha of the Red Blood Pack, greeted us warmly. He extended his hand, and we shook it firmly.
