• Azrael's POV:
• Ah, just when I thought her accepting my mark was the greatest thing to happen tonight, our bond solidified in an entirely new way. She could hear my thoughts - no matter how dark, primal or lascivious they became. A delicious shiver ran through me at the prospect of her being privy to the ravenous depths of my desire for her luscious body.
• What surprised me, however, was that I couldn't hear her thoughts in return. As mates, once the marking was complete, we were supposed to be psychically linked, able to communicate soul-deep through our bond. But her mind remained infuriatingly silent to me.
