• The air between them shimmered like molten refractions in the aftermath of Azrael's vow, both alpha and lunamatra caught in the throes of cosmic provocation. Raven's fingers toyed with the delicate wineglass, the only tendril still tethering her to this tenuous plane as she processed the enormity of what she'd initiated.
• When she finally met Azrael's piercing stare once more, it was with a fragility that belied the resilience fueling her terms just moments before. As if some hairline fracture in her resolve had finally shuddered at the mere glimpse of unearthly havoc he would wreak through her existence in their mating's wake.
