Chapter 3 Being With Him
- The next day
- After a night where I barely slept an hour, because we were truly passionate until the end, we left the hotel and I was taken home to change clothes and go to classes.
- "I hate when I have to leave you, but I know you wouldn't miss a class, miss... no, my lady and model student."
- "See you later," I say, ready to get out of his car, standing in front of the building where I live.
- "I love you, Rain. Never forget that," Lake says, and I give him a chaste kiss.
- "I love you too, Rain's boyfriend," I say, before getting out of his car, smiling.
- "Miss Evaniff," someone says with a cold voice, and I turn around with concern.
- "Oh no," I whisper, seeing my father's butler in front of me.
- "I need you to accompany me to an important place, Miss Evaniff."
- "Since when is my father here?" I ask, worried.
- "Since yesterday, we have been looking for you since yesterday," the butler says, and I gulp hard.
- With concern, I get into the car that stops in front of me and I pray that they don't notice that I am no longer the same, and that if I take off my coat, they will know that I am not the innocent girl they remember. Worried, I get out of the car and enter the elevator. When I am in front of his room door, I hesitate.
- "You better face it soon, he has already sent me to retrieve your university papers," the butler says, and immediately, I open the door to confront him.
- "You can't take me out of university, father!" I say, annoyed, entering a room where all my uncles and brothers are.
- "Oh, dear Rain, how nice of you to honor us with your presence at this hour," my father says, as all courage disappears.
- "Father..."
- "Rain Evaniff, no, your name is Rain Tsvetkova, isn't it?"
- "I don't see anything wrong with using my mother's maiden name," I say, and my mother gets up and greets me with kisses before taking my hands.
- "I am very honored that you use my father's surname, dear," my mother says, and I sigh in relief because she is not going to scold me.
- However, the relief is short-lived because she hits me hard on the arm, causing me to fall to the ground from the force of the blow.
- "Mother, don't hit our sister like that!" my brothers say, rushing to help me.
- "I didn't ask the twins to get involved in this," my mother says with annoyance.
- "Mother..."
- "But I won't allow you to use my father's surname for these antics, Rain!" my mother shouts, and I kneel, knowing that I must be submissive or I won't be able to return to university.
- "In Russia, everyone fears me or shows too much respect, because I am the one who will take over as the head of the family. Just by saying my surname, everyone bows before me, without giving me the opportunity to be intimate with anyone.
- "You will be intimate with your husband," my father says, and I whimper.
- "Father, I'm talking about having friends and someone to talk to about girly things. Here, I have that, but I have achieved it because I don't use your surname, but my grandfather's. I didn't want to be feared for coming from a powerful family, and I certainly didn't want any favoritism because of it.
- “Here, they treat me well because I am a good woman and an excellent student, not because a heavy surname backs me up. Please, soon I will have to bear a heavy crown, let me at least process in a pleasant environment, as that crown will be heavy.
- "You are a human, Rain. A human! It's as if you deny your roots and what you will become!" my father shouts.
- "I don't deny them, but I want to be free at least a little before being a prisoner of so many responsibilities. My brothers know what it feels like, and it's horrible," I say, and everyone looks down.
- 'I think with this, I will be able to go back to university and continue with my amazing boyfriend,' I tell myself mentally.
- My parents look at each other, and I continue with a speech that increases in drama with my tears, which always move my uncles. Because if I have to come out of this well, I have to convince them all.
- “Everything I'm doing is to be able to explore everything and know what I need to improve and what I need to eliminate from my life. I know what I have to do and say, just... let me be a free girl before joining a marriage of convenience, I beg you.” I say pleading to my father and he sighs deeply.
- “I need you to see your fiancé, daughter.” my father says and my chest hurts.
- “It's not necessary for us to meet. The marriage has already been arranged, I can meet him on the day of our wedding.” I tell my father and he nods.
- “If that's what you want, so be it. But, I will only let you study here if you live where I want and answer all my calls.” my father says and I immediately get up, jumping towards him.
- 'I have been saved from an odyssey.' I tell myself mentally.
- The tension in the room disappears and we all greet each other properly, then have breakfast. Fortunately, no one notices anything strange about me and I smile at having convinced them to let me stay. After that, I run home to change and head to the university where after classes, I meet up with my splendid boyfriend, who looks at me sadly.
- 'Let it not be bad news, please.' I ask mentally.
- “Is something wrong?
- “I was called from Rome after I left you at your apartment, I have to leave today.
- “What are you saying?
- “My father has fallen ill and I must leave soon to see how I can help him.
- “Lake...
- “I will come back. I will only take a couple of weeks, my dear. While I find someone to take care of him and make sure everything is okay with him.
- “But...
- “I have to leave, Rain. But, I promise you nothing will be different.
- 'Why do I feel like this is going to complicate everything? Why does this happen just when I gave myself to him? Is he leaving because he got what he wanted from me?' I ask myself mentally, worried.
- “I understand.” I say, feeling that the mood has completely disappeared.
- “Why don't we run away now?” Lake asks and I shake my head.
- 'I have never skipped classes and now, that I may not come back...'
- “Okay, let's go.” I say determined.
- “Where are we going?
- “What would you like to do?
- “See some action, it could be a movie or whatever you want.” I say and he nods, looking at me mischievously.
- 'Oh, he wants another kind of action.' I tell myself mentally.
- “We'll have action at my house, it's the closest one we have now.” Lake says and I nod.
- “But first... we need to go to a drugstore.
- As soon as we pass by a drugstore, he stops and smiling, hands me a box in a bag.
- “Lake! Why so many?!
- “We can't take risks, because I doubt you want a baby soon. So, it's better to be safe, because doing it once or getting out of you is too much...
- “I understand, you don't need to say more.” I say blushing and he kisses me smiling.
- “I love it when you're so shy.” Lake says, resuming our route to his house.
- As soon as we pass through the door of his house, the desire is evident and that's why Lake grabs me by the beginning of my legs, lifts me up and places me on the kitchen island, where he kisses me with intensity and undresses me quickly.
- 'We will truly have a magnificent farewell and I'm not going to complain about it.' I tell myself mentally.
