- "No, I—I can't do this anymore. I can't," I muttered, my voice breaking as I stared down at the jagged rocks below the cliff. The wind tugged at my hair, chilling my cheeks and giving me the feeling that I was a leaf about to be blown away. I tightened my grip on the letter I'd written—a goodbye no one would care to read.
- My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I jumped. For a second, I almost ignored it. What could possibly matter now? But the insistent buzzing got the better of me. With a sigh, I pulled it out and glanced at the screen.
